Florence Spring Packing List

Welcome to Florence in the Spring!

Travel Dates: March, April, May

Spring in Florence is a great time to visit, with the weather gradually warming up from March to May. You’ll want to be prepared for cool mornings and evenings, especially in March and April, so layering is key. Start with a short sleeve shirt and add a light jacket or sweater that you can easily take off as the day warms up. By May, the weather is typically warm and sunny, perfect for lighter clothing. Rain is possible, particularly in April and May, so a small umbrella or rain jacket is a good idea. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for exploring Florence’s historic streets and museums.

Dress Code

Florence is a city where style and comfort blend seamlessly. During the day, you’ll want to dress casually but elegantly—think fitted jeans, pants, or a skirt paired with a stylish top. If you’re planning to visit churches like the Duomo or Santa Croce, it’s respectful to cover your shoulders and knees. For evenings out, especially if you’re dining at a nice restaurant or attending an opera, smart casual attire is recommended. Comfortable yet chic footwear is important, especially for navigating the cobblestone streets of Florence. A light scarf and a pair of sunglasses are also useful for those sunny spring days.
